One Dies In Keokuk Fire

One person has perished after an apartment building caught fire Saturday evening.

Keokuk Fire Department received the call of a fire at 317 Concert Street at 8:50 pm Saturday night after smoke was reported coming from the building. Upon arrival the KFD observed flames shooting from the roof of the building. Crews attempted to reach the attic after being told there was a person possibly trapped inside but could not gain access due the intense heat.

The victims name has not been identified at this time. Radio Keokuk will keep you updated and more information is released.
