‘Birds of Prey’ flies into theaters this weekend

Warner Bros. Pictures(NEW YORK) — Opening nationwide on Friday:

* Birds of Prey — Like the DC Comic book series of the same name, the movie centers on some of Gotham City’s felons of the fairer sex, including Joker’s ex, Harley Quinn — played by Margot Robbie, reprising her role as the titular character, which she debuted in 2016’s Suicide Squad — as well as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress, and Dinah Lance/Black Canary, played respectively by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell.

The film has the baddies joining forces with each other and Rosie Perez’s Gotham Police Detective Renee Montoya, to save a young girl, portrayed by Ella Jay Basco, to fight Ewan McGregor’s criminal mastermind Black Mask. Rated R.
