April corn for ethanol, soybean crush down from March

Corn for ethanol use dipped in April. The USDA says 415.738 million bushels of corn were ground for fuel alcohol, 5% less than in March due to seasonal maintenance and 1% lower than April 2022 because of some industry uncertainties about demand.

1,619,677 tons of distillers dried grains with solubles were produced, a decline of 5% on both the month and the year.

Soybean crush numbers were mixed. 187 million bushels of beans were crushed in April 2023, down 11 million from March, but up 6 million from April 2022 as facilities responded to demand for soybean products.
