Ardith “Ardy” Ellen Liddle, 62, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home in Keokuk.
Ardy was born on January 3, 1963, in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Vernon and Rose Ellen (McMurren) Sullivan. She graduated from Strasburg High School in Virginia in 1981, and on October 11, 1986, she was united in marriage to Stephen James Liddle in Tucson, Arizona. He survives. Ardy went on to work as a teacher’s aide in the Keokuk School District, assisting children with special needs. Everyone loved Ardy, and she lit up every room she entered.
Ardy loved helping others and volunteered at the Hope House in Keokuk. She enjoyed shopping at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby and going down to watch boats attempt to put into the river. Ardy also loved going to Bible studies and animals.
Ardy is survived by her husband Stephen Liddle of Keokuk; her son Steven (Partner Bre Knight) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her brother Gilbert Hathaway of Tucson; her sister Christina Coyle of Tucson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ardy is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Keokuk Humane Society.
