Bette Jo Gipe

Bette Jo Gipe, 78, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 3:00 AM at her home.

She was born on December 21, 1947 in Ft. Madison to Alvin and Mabel Wedel Childers. Bette married Harvey “Skip” Gipe and he preceded her in death. She worked in production at Henniges for several years. Bette was a great cook. She liked to swim and enjoyed her in-home workouts with Denise Austin.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Traci) Burgund of Ft. Madison; her daughter, Nashay Harmon of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Dakota and Dylan Burgund, Julian Brooks and Jasper Harmon; three sisters, Mary (Jerry) DeFrates of Bettendorf, Becky (Keith) Cook of Mineral Point, WI and Bonnie (Greg) Scheele of Plymouth, WI; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ramόn Jaciunde and three sisters, Patty, Deborah and Judy.
