Black Sea Grain Initiative faces May 18th deadline

Black Sea Grain Initiative negotiations could resume this week.

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa tells Brownfield Russia continues to indicate it plans to let the current deal expire May 18th.

“I’m hearing that Russia is giving Ukraine, Europe, the United States, Turkey, and the U.N. trouble because they want to use it as leverage to get sanctions off of Russia.”

The Black Sea Grain Initiative was set up to be automatically extended.
