Brian Anthony Finton

Brian Anthony Finton, 43, formerly of Carthage, IL, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, in Council Bluffs, IA.

Brian was born on April 22, 1982, in Carthage, IL. He graduated from Carthage High School in 2000. He was employed at Armour Dial for a time when he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a Chef. Brian attended the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, graduating in 2009. He traveled around the United States for different Chef positions. Brian enjoyed writing music and playing guitar. He loved the crazy cat he adopted while in Bethel, AK. Most of all, he loved his grandmother, Nellie Benn.

Brian is survived by his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Tim Lafeber, his sister, Sara (LaRenzo) Clay, and their four children, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Steven Finton, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
