Carmen June Clampitt, 74, of West Point, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 7:50 PM at the Mt. Sterling Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Carmen was born June 11, 1950, the daughter of Luther and June (Randoph) Bennett in Keokuk, Iowa. She attended Carthage High School graduating in 1967. On June 15, 1968, she was united in marriage to Ronald “Ronnie” Clampitt at the West Point Assembly of God Church. He survives. Carmen had worked in her younger years at the Swift Turkey plant and for Motorola. She was a CNA for over thirty years and had worked at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage. Carmen attended the Assembly of God and Christian Churches in West Point. She enjoyed church and made it a central part of her life. She also liked crocheting taking care of her cats.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Ronnie, of West Point; her son, Ricky (Robin) Clampitt of Plymouth; a daughter, Abbey (Kevin) Clampitt of Carthage; granddaughter, Gracie Boyles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosella Kay.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the West Point Christian Church or Hearts of Hancock Humane Society. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
