Maple syrup production was up this spring in the key production states. Michigan producers used 570-thousand taps to produce 190-thousand gallons of syrup, up 40-thousand gallons from 2021. Wisconsin had 920-thousand taps which yielded 440-thousand gallons of syrup this spring. The top producing states are Vermont, New York, and Maine with Wisconsin ranked 4th and Michigan ranked 6th.
