USDA Celebrates National Homeownership Month
WASHINGTON, June 1, 2022 – Today, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack kicked off National Homeownership Month. As part of this nationwide celebration, USDA is highlighting programs that help people in rural, Tribal and underserved areas buy, build and repair affordable homes and to pay their rent in America’s smallest towns and communities.
Farm Bureau economist looks at dairy risk management utilization
An economist says more dairy farmers are utilizing the risk management programs for milk. Cattle futures supported by lower move in corn
At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle ended the day higher, with feeders in the lead on the lower corn. August live cattle closed $2.52 higher at $132.90 and August feeder cattle closed $4.60 higher at $169.72. There was another round of light to moderate direct cash cattle trade on Tuesday. Delays throw off weed control for Minnesota organic farmer
An organic row crop farmer in southwest Minnesota says planting delays are also problematic for weed control. A dairy group is asking Ag Secretary Vilsack to clarify what he needs to move ahead with Federal Milk Marketing Order hearings.
