Central Lee has become the 3rd and final Lee county school district to approve its 2017-18 budget. The total budget will stand at 11 million dollars and will include funding from a general fund levy, instructional support levy, management fund, and physical plant and equipment levy. The total levy for the school district alone will come out to 11 dollars and 95 cents per taxable thousand which falls below previous estimates that it may be as much as 12 dollars and 12 cents. The overall levy falls well below that of both Keokuk and Fort Madison school districts as Central Lee has seen steady enrollment numbers. In other business the district also announced the hiring of Evan Swanson as high social studies instructor and head basketball coach.
