Clinton Mitchell “Mickey” Dill, 72, of Keokuk, formerly of Hamilton, passed away at 4:49 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Great River Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa.
Mickey was born May 7, 1953, the son of Charles Clinton and Ruby Jean (Cleveland) Dill in Keokuk, Iowa. He attended Hamilton High School graduating in 1971. On October 11, 1972, he joined the United States Air Force receiving his Honorable discharge on June 15, 1976. He worked at the Foote Mineral Factory in Keokuk until it’s closing in 1987 and he was a member of union I.U.O.E. Local #148 while there. He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion Carolyn “Sue” McKay in 2021. They had been together for 42 years. Mickey enjoyed road trips with Sue and her grandson Steve. He also enjoyed walking around Hamilton, fishing, watching Chicago Cubs baseball and old westerns, listening to country music, shooting pool and drinking beer. He was a huge Elvis fan. After Sue’s passing he spent the last year of his life living with his sister Shawn in Keokuk.
Mickey is survived by his siblings, Mike (Joanne) Dill, Gary (Debbie) Dill, Ellen Bruns, Shawn (Joe) Dill and Tina Stephenson; a brother-in-law, Steve Boley; grandson, Stephen Boatman; Sue’s children, Orris “Buddy” McKay, Kim Kurtz and Brian McKay; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his cat, Snowball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myra Boley; brother, Terry “Tad” Dill; his life companion, Sue McKay; brothers-in-law, Randy Bruns and Joe Stephenson; and s sister-in-law, Penny Dill.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with burial to follow in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 9:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House and can be left at the funeral home. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
