Darrin Alan Jones

Darrin Alan Jones, 50, of Houston, TX, formerly of Carthage, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston, TX.

Darrin was born on June 23, 1973, in Quincy, Illinois. He was the son of Gerald and Pat (Swartz) Jones. On April 23, 2010, Darrin was united in marriage to Olivia Bautista in Dubai, UAE.

Darrin earned two master’s degrees with one being in English as a second language and in Instructional Design. He worked as an Instructional Designer for the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. Darrin liked to listen to music, read books, and watch TV. He was all about family and always enjoyed his time back in Carthage. He loved to BBQ, go to plays, and enjoy art with his wife.

Darrin is survived by his wife, Olivia Jones, of Houston, TX; his parents, Gerald (Pat) Jones; his sisters, Debbie (Paul) Tanksley, of Ottumwa, IA, Tina Jones, of Carthage, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow at Moss Ridge Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 – 11 am. Memorials may be made out to the family for funeral expenses. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
