Debra “Debby” Buckwalter, 71, of Canton, MO, passed away at 1:50 AM, Sunday, September 7, 2025, at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO. Pastor Randy Cain will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Debby’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Debby was born on November 21, 1953, to Marion Walter Goehl and Hazel Miller Goehl. She was previously married to William “Bill” O. Buckwalter in 1973, in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2024.
Survivors include her children Carl (Lisha) Buckwalter in Quincy, IL, Craig (Darcy) Buckwalter of Canton, MO, Cyle Buckwalter (Kelly Boll) of Canton, MO, Kiley Turnbaugh of LaGrange, MO, grandchildren, Jade Sophia Buckwalter, Jace William Buckwalter, Kayln Marie Buckwalter, Nora Mae Buckwalter, Boyd Marion Buckwalter, Avery Thomas Dent, Makenna Dawn Boll, Blake Craig Buckwalter, Bryce Todd Buckwalter, Hailey Turnbaugh, Heath Turnbaugh, Levi Turnbaugh, niece, Dawn Spillman and nephew James Wesley Savage.
Debby was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Marion Louis Goehl, sister, Dorothy Louise Savage and nephew, Charles Savage.
Debby served as a Department Manager at Walmart for 34 years where she exemplified commitment and leadership. She valued the friendships she made at work over the years and enjoyed spending time with them. Debby was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Although reserved and serious in demeanor, Debby’s heart held a treasure trove of affection for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Debby found joy in cross-stitching and channeled her love for her children and grandchildren into making them cozy, handcrafted blankets. She possessed an admirable collection of thimbles and spoons.
In her moments of leisure, she could be found immersed in the world of culinary arts, watching cooking shows and the Food Network. She also enjoyed watching Log Cabin Builders, marveling at the skill and dedication involved in creating such sturdy and beautiful homes.
Her love for travel often drew her to the rolling hills and tranquil landscapes of Tennessee and Kentucky, places where she found peace and a touch of adventure.
A true connoisseur of the simpler pleasures of life, Debbie indulged her senses in the soulful tunes of Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.
Debby’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Debby was Baptist by faith.
Pallbearers will be Jace William Buckwalter, Avery Thomas Dent, Blake Craig Buckwalter, Ron Sweet, Nick Sweet and Ed Sweet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jade Sophia Buckwalter, Kayln Marie Buckwalter, Nora Mae Buckwalter, Boyd Marion Buckwalter, Makenna Dawn Boll, Bryce Todd Buckwalter, Hailey Turnbaugh, Heath Turnbaugh and Levi Turnbaugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Hospice and the Christian Church.
