E. Elaine Niggemeyer

Evelyn Elaine Niggemeyer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026.

She was born on June 19, 1940 in Montrose, Iowa, to Howard and Juanita (Holmes) Fowler. On January 31, 1959 she married Donald Niggemeyer in Ft. Madison and he passed away on October 25, 2019. Elaine had a lifelong love of nature. She found joy in being outdoors, tending to the birds, squirrels, deer, and her dogs and cats. She worked as a speech clinician for the Area Education Agency for 42 years, touching countless lives and making a lasting impact on the children she served.

Elaine is survived by her son, Mark of Dallas, TX; daughter, Dana (Chuck) Chrisman of Burlington, IA; grandson, Camden Chrisman of Dallas, TX; sister, Connie (Ray) Robison of Cantril, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; sister, Kathy Westfall; and brothers, John, Keith, and Larry Fowler.

She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and all those who knew her.

Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for PAW Animal Shelter and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
