Eric C. Johnson

Eric C. Johnson, 75, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at River Valley Place in Fort Madison. He was born on July 24, 1950 in Washington, IA to Everette W. & Betty Cleavenger Johnson, Jr. He married Sally J. Graham on October 17, 1970 in Hannibal, MO. He worked as a clerk for the BNSF Railroad for 38 years and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of DAV and a former member of the American Legion in Hannibal, MO. Special recognition to his military friends and family and his hunting buddies, the Smith brothers, of 50 years.

Eric is survived by: his wife: Sally Johnson of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: Eric C. Johnson II of New London, MO & Aaron M. (Amber) Johnson of Fort Madison, IA; several grandchildren; 1-brother: Bruce (Vickie) Johnson of La Crosse, WI and a special uncle: George (Dawn) Johnson of Callao, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Everette Johnson III.
