Some farmers across the Midwest say they’re surprised by how well crops are handling drought conditions.
Nebraska farmer Cale Carlson farms 2,000 acres of irrigated corn and soybeans in Marquette. He tells Brownfield he’s just been able to keep up with crop water demands.
“There’s not a whole lot of subsoil moisture right now, but the crops are hanging on where they’ve been able to get water.
Danny Assman farms in western Iowa near the Nebraska border and drove across the ‘I’ states earlier this week.
