Gary B. Glasgow, 80, of Canton, MO passed away at 7:05 pm, Friday, November 28, 2025, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO. Pastor David Bower will officiate. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL.
Friends and Family are invited to Gary’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Gary was born on September 26, 1945, at the Army Air Force Regional Hospital in Fresno, CA to Richard W. Glasgow and Margaret L. Bertram Glasgow. He was married to Lois J. Tate on December 14, 1969, in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death February 27, 2025.
Survivors include his daughter, Christa L. (Joseph) Johnson of Canton, MO, sister, Anne Glasgow of Austin, TX, grandchildren, Ethan Johnson of Quincy, IL and Ava Johnson of Canton, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard Tate Glasgow, and sister, Mary Karole Glasgow.
Gary was a dedicated engineer whose career included serving as Physical Plant Director at Culver-Stockton College. He also proudly served in the National Guard.
A meticulous and thoughtful man, Gary had many passions. He was an avid Civil War enthusiast who visited numerous battlefields and read extensively about their history. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, and spending time in his workshop, where he crafted furniture with exceptional skill. He was also a lifelong Corvette lover, especially fond of his 1960 Stingray convertible.
Gary will be remembered for his precision, curiosity, and the care he brought to everything he did. His presence will be deeply missed.
