Kentucky corn and soybean conditions decline as weather stress continues

Kentucky corn and soybean conditions have declined significantly as rainfall remains below average.

Corn dropped to 59% rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 80% planted, with 79% emerged, and 65% rated good to excellent.  Late-planted soybeans have struggled as soils are dry and hard.

Winter wheat is 20% harvested and 78% mature with 67% of the crop rated good to excellent. 

The tobacco crop is 89% set and 84% is rated good to excellent.
