Linda Marie Kennedy

Linda Marie Kennedy, 78, of Donnellson, formerly of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

“Crazy Linda” was born on October 23, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Patreina Ann (Walters) Bawden. She graduated from Keokuk High School, and on August 14, 1976, she was united in marriage to John William “Jack” Kennedy in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2025. She was employed at Fruehauf, Catfish Bend Casino and finally Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte, where she retired.

Linda was a member of the Southside Boat Club and enjoyed spending her time going to the casino, planting flowers, and shopping at flea markets and auctions. She even had her own market booth, COBS. Linda loved horses and dogs, showing dogs and breeding them. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her son and granddaughter.

Linda is survived by her son Karson (Shanda) Kennedy of Niota, Illinois; her granddaughter Kathy Kennedy of Niota; three brothers: Kent (Lori) Bawden of Keokuk, Keith (Rhonda) Bawden of Keokuk, and Kyle (Barb) Bawden of Hamilton, Illinois; her sister Sue Ellen Balluff of Keokuk; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Bruce and Stephen Bawden; and her brother-in-law Bob Balluff.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 3 to 7 pm, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 pm at DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, Iowa.
