Lucinda “Cindy” Johnson

Lucinda “Cindy” May Francis Johnson, 88, of Montrose, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

She was born on February 28, 1937, in Keokuk, IA.

In 1963, Cindy was united in marriage to Robert Johnson, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1999.

Cindy worked for more than thirty years at Griffin Wheel in Keokuk as a mold sweeper, retiring in 2001.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Montrose.

Cindy had a kind heart and a joyful spirit that was reflected in her ever-present smile. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, always finding ways to interact with them and bring laughter to their visits. She also enjoyed word search and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Tommy) Elston of Montrose, her son Robert Johnson Jr. of Fairfield, IA, ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jesse Johnson, and her brother.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.
