Mary “Marsha” Schilson, 84, of Hamilton, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at River Hills Village in Keokuk. Marsha was born February 19, 1941, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur John and Dorothy Mildred (Sprague) Koehler. She graduated from Hamilton High School. On September 21, 1958, she married Richard Eugene Schilson in Sutter. He preceded her in death in 2016. It was a beautiful marriage, and Marsha still had the stuffed bear she received from Richard on their first date. Marsha enjoyed collecting miniature dollhouses and their furnishings. She also enjoyed gardening and had a passion for couponing. She loved being a grandmother and spent many years taking care of her grandchildren, teaching them gardening and couponing as well. She made a special Christmas stocking for each grandchild every Christmas, something they all fondly remember. Marsha was known for having a sweet tooth and in later years enjoyed dessert first as often as possible. Marsha often said she was “a farmer’s daughter and a farmer’s wife”, and she loved her legacy. Marsha is survived by her children, Tim (Kim) Schilson of Basco, Lisa Pribyl of Keokuk, and Tom (Shelly) Schilson of Panama City Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Christina (Mark) Bousselot, Lindsey (Scott) Gooding, Tyler (Hayley) Schilson, Trent (Beth) Pribyl, Kayla (Elliot) Brown, Amy (Jeremy) Mefford, Halie (Jake) Todd, Kodie (Maggie) Schilson and Kolbie (Mariah) Schilson; great grandchildren, Avery, Levi, and Reid Bousselot, Madison and Jackson Gooding, Braden and Thea Pribyl, Josie and Teddy Brown, Braxton and Hadlie Todd, Brodie Schilson, Jackson, Paisley, and Krew Schilson; sisters, Nancy Asbury, Judy (Jim) Trotter and Debbie Symmonds; sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Cosgrove; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son-in-law, Mike Pribyl; and sister-in-law, Rachel Califf, brother-in-law, Bill Califf, and brother-in-law, Jim Symmonds. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 12, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with Pastor Mark Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Family will meet friends from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home Monday morning. Memorials may be directed to Every Step Hospice of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
