Mary Therese “MTV” Veile

Mary Therese “MTV” Veile, 69, loving wife and mother, of Hamilton, passed away at 9:25 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy surrounded by her family.

Born on July 17th, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mary was a daughter of John and Therese (Carlin) Reeder.  She graduated from IVC High School in Chillicothe, Illinois, and went on to receive her associate degree.  She was united in marriage to Bernard “Bernie” Veile on June 1st, 1986, in Hopewell, Illinois.

Mary enjoyed traveling with family and friends, bowling, visiting casinos, collecting antiques, Longaberger Baskets, and other unique items, but most of all she enjoyed precious time with family and friends.  In some of her travels she met celebrities such as Bobby Vee, Wolfman Jack, Fabian, The Drifters, The Shirelles, and the Van-Dells.  She also assisted as a teacher’s aid and other school events throughout the years. Mary was of the Catholic faith.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Bernie Veile, of 37 years; twin sons, John Veile and his wife Ashley, of Peoria, Illinois, and Joe Veile of Washington, Illinois; two granddaughters, Hazel and Olivia Veile of Peoria, Illinois; a sister, Kathleen Reeder and her husband, Lee Greenly, of Sandstone, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Reeder; and a daughter, Cassandra.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
