More hot weather ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country.  Areas likely to experience hotter-than-normal weather include the Plains, Midwest, mid-South, and Southeast, while cooler-than-normal conditions will be limited to the Northeast and the Northwest.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather should be limited to the Four Corners region and across the nation’s northern tier from Washington to the Red River Valley.
