Nancy Lorine Fecht, 81, of Carthage, passed away at 10:05 AM, Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage surrounded by family.
Nancy was born June 23, 1944, the daughter of Lester and Effie (Sweet) Young, in Keokuk, Iowa. She graduated from Keokuk High School. On April 2, 1961, she was united in marriage to Roger Fecht in Keokuk. He survives.
Nancy was a lifelong member of Immanual Lutheran Church near Basco where she taught Sunday School for many years. Nancy was a very caring person. She enjoyed boating with family and friends and riding a motorcycle, which was how she met Roger, her husband over 64 years ago. She helped extensively on the family farm working in the fields and cooking and gardening. She had also worked at Memorial Hospital and Methode Electronics in Carthage. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Jonathan and Stacey and her great grandchildren, Natalie and Noah.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Roger, of Carthage; son, Larry (Charlotte) Fecht of Carthage; grandchildren, Jonathan (Holly) Fecht and Stacey (Ryan) Runyon; two great grandchildren, Natalie and Noah Fecht; siblings, Louise Hopp, Lawrence (Susie) Young, Winona Otto, Dennis (Cindy) Young, Marilyn Lowary, Karen Young, Diane Cambell and Barbie (John) Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Debbie Brown; and a brother, Donald Young.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Immanual Lutheran Church near Basco with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
