NPPC: traceability, preparedness are critical for foreign animal diseases

The CEO of the National Pork Producers Council says foreign animal diseases like African Swine Fever are a top priority for the nation’s pork producers.

Bryan Humphreys tells Brownfield that also includes work toward regionalization, which would help reduce trade disruptions if a foreign animal disease were detected in the US.

“As we work toward that, we have a joint industry group working tougher here to address all the things that would need to lead up to regionalization for the industry,” he says.
