OFA President Peggy Brekveld voices support for Bill C-234 at Committee for Agriculture & Agri-Food

The OFA and its 38,00 members strongly support Bill C-234 and the amendments to the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (GPPA). We are confident that by expanding list of qualifying farm fuels to include natural gas and propane, and by amending the definition of eligible farming machinery to allow those fuels to be used to provide heat to dry grain and raise or house livestock, will make a difference. This Bill will have an immediate positive impact on the livelihoods of Canadian farmers and their ability to respond to greenhouse gas reduction targets.
