National Zoo(WASHINGTON) — Tian Tian, a giant panda at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., decided to show off his acrobatic skills while climbing a tree.
At one point in a video of his feat, the crowd gasps as Tian Tian dangles precariously head down.
Miraculously, Tian Tian did not tumble out of the tree.
You could call this stunt a midlife crisis of sorts. Tian Tian turns 20 this year, and giant pandas typically live 30 years in captivity. The oldest giant panda on record is 38 years old, according to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.
#TianTian versus tree. We think Tian Tian—with his adept climbing skills—wins this one. #PandaStory pic.twitter.com/eWbx4qG3GV
