Patrick Jerome Stump, 72, of Macomb, passed away Sunday evening, July 26, 2026, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
Patrick was born June 27, 1954, in Macomb, the son of Charles Laurel and Maureen Louise (Arnold) Stump. He graduated from Southeastern High School in 1973 and went on to receive his associate degree from Robert Morris College. He had also attended Illinois Central College and Lakeland College. He had been an active member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and served as the teaching assistant for catechism for many years. He was an excellent vocalist and sang with many bands, including Red Hot Rider, Azure Sunset, and was the lead singer for Split Image. He had the privilege of singing for the Peoria Diocese bishop as well at the Peoria Cathedral. Patrick was a beloved care giver, by patients and coworkers alike, and had an excellent thirty-year career at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
Patrick is survived by his siblings, James (Denise) Stump of Ft. Madison, Theresa (Saeed) Ghafourian of Irvine, California, and Mark Stump of Keosauqua; a sister-in-law, Sharon Stump of Quincy; and many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Anthony Stump and Steven John Stump.
A Mass will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM, August 1, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with his parents at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
