Planting in Kentucky continues to run ahead of average page

Planting pace for Kentucky’s crops is running ahead of last year and the 5-year average.

The corn crop is 52% planted, compared to the previous year at 24%, and the 5-year average of 36% with 24% of the crop emerged. 

Soybeans are 27% planted compared to 11% last year and the 5-year average of 12%. Winter wheat conditions are mostly good, as 11% of the crop is rated excellent and 53% is rated good.
