Randy Ray Nichols, 82, of Rushville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home.

Randy was born on September 14, 1943, in West Point, Illinois, the son of Otho Earl and Alberta Maxine (Banks) Nichols. He graduated from Bowen High School in 1962, and on June 29, 1963, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Ament in Tioga, Illinois. She survives. He worked at Camden Elevator and FS before going to NTN-Bower in Macomb for forty years until his retirement.

Randy was a simple man, a hard worker who found joy in the little things in life like fishing and his family. Despite his work, Randy always found time to attend his son’s baseball games. He enjoyed relaxing with a cigar and a western book. He also enjoyed painting and drawing.

Randy is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Nichols of Rushville, Illinois; his son Joe (Cindy Carter) Nichols of Rushville; his daughter Karri Nichols of Pinckneyville, Illinois; two sisters: Earlene (Shirley) Holman of West Point, Illinois, and Pam (Brad) Mormon of Bowen, Illinois; five grandchildren: Karri’s children Matthew and Maggie, and Joe’s children Kolbie, Jegs and Joanna; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob.

A celebration of his life and burial at Bethany UCC Cemetery will be held at a later date.
