Rosemary C. Huff Coppage, 98, of Fort Madson, IA, passed away at 3:01 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison. She was born on September 25, 1927 in Fort Madison, IA to Joseph & Caroline Bergthold Beach. She married B.L. Huff on December 19, 1945 in Fort Madison. He preceded her in death in 1997. She then married Percy Coppage on June 28, 1999 in Montrose, IA. He preceded her in death in 2008. She worked as the manager of Southeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Altar & Rosary Society, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout volunteer. Music was her life and she was known for impersonating Minnie Pearl. She was awarded the Outstanding Service to the State of Iowa Award by Gov. Terry Branstad. She also loved riding horses in the Tri-State Rodeo Parade for many years, meeting Gene Autry in person once.
Rosemary is survived by: 2-daughters: Angela Rose Stotlar Fields of Fort Madison, IA & Sally Jo (Darrell) Hemmie of Montrose, IA; 3-step sons; 1-step daughter and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, both husbands, 2-brothers, 3-sisters, 2-step brothers, 1-step sister & her stepfather.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church. A mass will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish.
