Roy Alan Stavenger, 83, of Naperville, IL, passed away on May 4, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1941, in Berwin, IL to Elroy and Minnie Stavenger.
Roy attended Hope College and Elmhurst College where he met the love of his life, Karen. They shared almost 60 years together traveling, playing golf and working together. They were married on August 15, 1964.
Roy began his working career with his uncle in a garbage business and became an entrepreneur’ as owner of Streator Disposal Company. He moved on to several other ventures including Help You Sell Real Estate franchise and developing Save More Real Estate both in Naperville IL.
Roy was a man of faith and had a thirst for knowledge. He was adventuresome in business and travels, He loved to hunt and fish and fly his airplane. He was a dog lover, particularly his West Highland Terriers.
Roy was a loving and caring husband, family man and friend. He loved to bring laughter and fun into the lives others.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judy Arends. He is survived by his wife Karen and his brother David (Betsy) Stavenger and many brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation was held on Saturday July 13, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E Gartner Rd, Naperville, IL 60540. Inurnment will be at 11 am on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Sutter, IL.
