Ruth “Annie” Anne (Marlin) Ross

Ruth Anne “Annie” (Marlin) Ross, 70, of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Annie was born on June 30, 1953, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Baldwin) Marlin. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1971 and was united in marriage to Michael “Mike” Thomas Ross in 1973. He survives. She worked as a waitress at many area restaurants, Montgomery Ward and Henniges, before becoming a registered nurse in 2002, graduating from Carl Sandburg College.

In her free time, Annie enjoyed boating, camping, and the great outdoors. She could often be found exercising, either walking or going to the pool. She loved animals, but most of all, she loved her family.

Annie is survived by her husband Mike of Keokuk; her son Jody (Alyssa) Ross of Keokuk; three brothers: Jeff (Dawn) Marlin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rick (Sarah) Marlin of Keokuk, and Ron “Fritz” (Shawn) Marlin of Keokuk; her sister Janie (Tom) Swick of West Point, Illinois; her sister-in-law Michelle Marlin of Keokuk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Bill and Tim Marlin.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk; with burial to follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
