Ruth M. Anderson

Ruth Maxine Anderson, 92, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. She was born on September 3, 1933 in Ottumwa, IA to Oramel Glen & Bernadena Sutton Renfrew. She married John M. Anderson on January 1, 1952 in Ottumwa, IA. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2016. She was a homemaker and worked at Fort Madison High School. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Burlington and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and gardening.

Ruth is survived by: 2-daughters: Cheryl (Stanley) Ball of Montrose, IA & Jayne (Dan) Hill of Burlington, IA; 3-sons: Patrick Anderson of Overland Park, KS, Michael (Diane) Anderson of Keokuk, IA & Douglas (Teresa) Anderson of Chandler, AZ; 19-grandchildren; 47-great grandchildren; 8-great great grandchildren; 1-sister: Barbara Orman of Bloomfield, IA; 2-sister in laws: Betty Anderson of Fort Madison, IA & Juanita Anderson of Ottumwa, IA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband & 2-sisters: Mildred Hopkins & Marjorie O’Dell.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Dean Graber officiating. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church with Revs. Jake Greiner & Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will follow at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
