Studio planning “Hunger Games,” “Twilight” theme park

Lionsgate/Murray Close(LOS ANGELES) — Being part of the world of The Hunger Games seemed pretty tough for Katniss Everdeen and company, but if it sounds appealing to you, then you’re going to love this new theme park.

Movie studio Lionsgate is partnering with a real estate developer in South Korea to build Lionsgate Movie World — a 1.3-million-square-foot theme park with areas dedicated to seven Lionsgate movies. 

The movies include not only The Hunger Games but also The Twilight Saga, Now You See Me and next year’s Robin Hood.

According to a press release from Landing Jeju Development Co., Ltd., the attractions will include rides, restaurants and reproductions of streets and towns featured in the films.

The theme park will be part of the Jeju Shinhwa World resort.  Construction is expected to begin next year with the park slated to open in 2019.
