Victor Wayne Gray

Victor Wayne Gray, 83 of Keokuk, IA passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at River Hills Village.

He was born April 14, 1942 in Sullivan County, MO the son of Glen and Vera Shaver Gray. Victor graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1961. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

On February 14, 1982 Victor was united in marriage to Esther Harris Gray. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2020.

He had been employed by Keokuk Steel Castings for twenty-nine years, until his retirement in 1989.

Victor loved traveling, camping and especially loved wearing his western button up shirts, jeans and black cowboy boots. Most of all he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them.

He is survived by three children, Troy Gray (Christina) of New London, IA, DeWayne Gray of Keokuk and Tonya Smith of Keokuk, three grandchildren, Kolton Smith (Amber) of West Point, IA and their three children Karter, Kallahan and Katy, Braydon Smith (Kenzie) of Spring Hill, TN and their son, Decker and Tanner Horner of Argyle, IA, two step-children, Brenda Hines of Keokuk and Steve Mason (Lori) of Keokuk and twenty step-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Tylor Gray, four step-children, Kenneth Finch, Jacqueline Hines, Harry Finch and John Finch, one step-grandson, Scott Finch and one brother, Veldon Gray.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk with Pastor John Heath officiating. Burial will be held in the Pherigo Cemetery in Unionville, MO.
