Wanda Lorene Harnetiaux, 95, of Carthage, passed away at 9:17 am. At Memorial Hospital in Carthage on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Wanda was born March 19, 1928, the daughter of Albert and Fae (Hopson) Wetzel in Basco, Illinois. She graduated from Carthage High School and lived her whole life in this local area. Wanda was united in marriage to James R. Harnetiaux in Carthage on September 7, 1946. Wanda worked for over thirty years at the local phone company in Carthage and the last four years before she retired, she worked in the Aledo telephone office due to the closing of our local office. She was very involved with her church and she and Jim enjoyed traveling in their motor home and camping.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Daniel (Brenda) Harnetiaux, of Carthage and James (Linda) Harnetiaux of Tennessee, Illinois; grandchildren, Krista (John) Artman of Tennessee, Illinois, and Nathan (Anna) Harnetiaux of Plainfield, Illinois. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Connor, Kailee, Karli and Kennedy Artman and Jacob and Jennifer Harnetiaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and a brother, Walton Wetzel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Carthage Methodist Church. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
