Wet conditions a problem in parts of Indiana

A wetter than normal February for much of Indiana is creating issues for some farmers.

The USDA says statewide precipitation averaged nearly 3 inches, almost double normal levels, and heavy snow early in February followed by a mid-month warm-up has pushed surplus soil moisture levels higher and led to flooding and ponding in some areas.

62% of Indiana’s winter wheat crop is in good to excellent condition, 2% less than last month.
