It’s getting drier in Missouri with below normal precipitation and above normal temperatures for this time of the year. USDA says subsoil moisture supplies are now rated 81% short to very short, worse than the previous week. Missouri’s hay supplies are 80% short to very short with stock water supplies 54% short. Wisconsin crop conditions decline with lack of moisture

The health of Wisconsin’s crops continues to decline because of the lack of rainfall.  Most of the state saw less than an inch of rain last week. USDA statistician Greg Bussler says the corn condition dropped 8%, soybeans down 7%, and oats down 3% from a week ago. The USDA says storms delivered timely moisture to crops last week in Ohio. The state’s corn and soybean crops are rated 66 percent good to excellent.   Winter wheat is rated 60 percent good to excellent with 55 percent of the crop mature and one percent harvested. Slight week-to-week improvements for Kentucky crops

Crop conditions improved slightly as Kentucky experienced below-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation. Corn is rated 60% good to excellent with 8% of the crop silking.  Soybeans are 93% planted, with 83% emerged, 8% blooming, and 66% rated good to excellent.  Some of the late-planted soybeans that have missed recent rains have struggled to germinate.
