The USDA says South Dakota farmers have completed their intended plantings. Ninety-six percent of the state’s corn crop has emerged, compared to 97 percent last year. Seventy-nine percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. Soybeans planted was near 100 percent last year with 82 percent of the crop emerged. 27 percent of wheat has been harvest in Kansas, according to USDA

More than a quarter of winter wheat has been harvested in Kansas. The USDA says 27 percent of the crop is in, 11 percent of last year’s pace.  Twenty-seven percent is in good-to-excellent condition. At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day mostly lower waiting for direct cash business to develop. Wisconsin lifts poultry show ban

Wisconsin officials have lifted the ban on poultry shows. The order had been in place since April to help prevent the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza.  The state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection is still advising poultry producers to maintain strong biosecurity practices including cleaning and disinfecting, restricting access by visitors and wild birds, and keeping separate shoes and clothes to wear around flocks. ...
