Global Dairy Index drops 1.3% Tuesday

The Global Dairy Index fell 1.3% in Tuesday’s trade.  Gains in butter and skim milk powder were more than offset by losses including a 9% drop in cheddar cheese. Milk production fractionally lower in May

Milk production during May was down on the year with a smaller herd canceling out a rise in average yield. The USDA says milk production in the top 24 dairy states was 18.841 billion pounds, 0.6% less than in May 2021.
