Farmers did make some corn and soybean planting progress last week. Livestock economist says cattle producers remain slow to grow the herd

A livestock economist says he’s still not seeing signs of expansion in the cattle industry. CME milk futures, cash dairy lower Monday

Milk futures were lower and cash dairy prices were steady to lower Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. May Class III milk was down $0.43 at $16.89.  June was down $0.42 at $17.59.  July was down $0.33 at $18.22.  August was down $0.23 at $18.87.  September through March contracts ranged from unchanged in January and February to twenty-two cents lower in October.
