FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friends of Keokuk Animals (FOKAS)
Friends of Keokuk Animals (FOKAS) has been selected as the beneficiary for the month of June in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits.
The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, which launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities’ customers live and work.
FOKAS was selected as the June beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Hy-Vee located at 3111Main Street in Keokuk. FOKAS will receive a $1 donation every time a $2.50 red “My Heart” Reusable Bag is purchased at this location during June 2021, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag,
“FOKAS is thrilled to be chosen to be the beneficiary of the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, especially since we are wrapping up of our spring Spay/Neuter program which so far has assisted families with the spaying, neutering and vaccination of over 60 dogs and cats, families who may not have been able to afford to do this for their pets without the Spay/Neuter program,” said Jean Meyer, volunteer with Friends of Keokuk Animals (FOKAS). “The funds raised through this program will be earmarked either for the FOKAS Spay/Neuter Program or the Gentle Doctor Fund which assists families with the cost of emergency care or emergency surgeries for their pets.”
Friends of Keokuk Animals (FOKAS) is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization founded in 2002 to assist with the care of animals in Keokuk and to promote the responsible care of all animals by providing humane education to schools and organizations upon request. For more information about FOKAS and how you can help care for pets and keep them with their families by assisting with the cost of their altering or emergency care call Meyer at 319-524-1127.
