(DES MOINES) – House Speaker Pat Grassley (R-New Hartford) recently announced that Representative-Elect Martin Graber (R-Fort Madison) will serve as the Vice Chair of the House Veterans Affairs Committee during the 89th General Assembly.
“As a 32-year Army Veteran, soldiers and their issues have always been important to me. I have always believed that if we take care of our soldiers, they will take care of us,” said Graber. “Just because a service member no longer wears the uniform, it does not mean they no longer need our support. Iowa is known for a rich military history and a key part of that history of success is taking care of our Veterans. I look forward to the opportunity to represent and have an impact on veterans across the State. To all veterans, thank you for your service!”
Graber was recently elected to his first term in the Iowa House earlier this fall.
“As a veteran himself, Representative-Elect Graber will make sure that those who bravely put on a uniform to keep us safe are taken care of once their service is completed. I am confident that he will make our veterans a priority and serve them well in this new role,” said Speaker Grassley.
The legislative session begins Monday, January 11, 2021.
